Education
In addition to the goal of reducing the stigma of mental illness, we also work toward improving the mental health in our community through education. We offer a Directory of Mental Health Services in Summit County and distribute thousands of them to individuals and agencies each year.
The ADVOCATE is distributed to more than 6,000 individuals, agencies, and businesses bi-annually. These newsletters deal with mental health issues, what's happening in Summit County, legislative alerts, and what's new in research.
Workshops are presented annually focusing on a different mental health issue each year. These workshops are open to the public, and CEU's are offered in several disciplines.
Information and Referral
Mental Health America answers hundreds of calls a year and provides information about services, support groups, crisis intervention centers and hotlines throughout the county and beyond. Referrals to agencies and mental health professionals are made to individuals and family members. Thousands of pieces of literature on mental health topics are distributed to those who request this information.
We also provide informative talks and presentations to groups and organizations throughout the community.
