Mental health is ever changing, not static.

All people should have access to help in dealing with the feelings and behaviors which trouble them.

People with mental illness are entitled to the same acceptance and support as are people with other illnesses.

Broad based citizen action is vital to the achievement of our mission:

Mental Health America of Summit County is dedicated to promoting mental health, preventing mental disorders and achieving victory over mental illness through advocacy, education, research and service.

This is accomplished through the provision of suicide prevention and depression awareness programs for adolescents, educational programs on mental health issues, activities designed to promote recovery oriented services for adults, information and referral services and advocacy and support services for families with children with severe behavioral disorders.
